USAA has appointed Tom Troy (pictured above) as chief transformation officer.
Troy will officially assume his role at USAA on September 25, reporting to Wayne Peacock, USAA CEO.
In the newly established position, Troy will lead USAA's transformation endeavors and oversee the corporate development team.
Before joining USAA, Troy was president and CEO at CSAA Insurance Group for four years. He helped transform CSAA's approach to product management, technology utilization, and service delivery.
Under his leadership, the company returned to profitability, expanded its business operations, and maintained consistently high levels of customer service, all while navigating the challenges of the pandemic.
Before his role at CSAA, Troy was an EVP at Allstate, overseeing a multi-billion-dollar portfolio encompassing the insurer's non-Allstate brands, including Esurance, Ivantage, Encompass, and business insurance. He also held various EVP positions at Liberty Mutual and played key leadership roles at Safeco Insurance.
Troy is an active participant in the industry and his community, having served as a board member of the American Property Casualty Insurance Association, Bay Area Council, and the California Chamber of Commerce.
He holds a master’s degree in business administration from Seattle University, a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington, and the CPCU designation from The Institutes.
