World Insurance Associates LLC has acquired the business of Christopher Williams Agency and Barrett Millard LLC, extending its presence in Pittsford and the greater Rochester, New York region.
The transaction closed on January 1, 2025. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Established in 1961, Christopher Williams Agency offers insurance products for individuals and businesses. It purchased Barrett Millard in 2023, and the combined operation has become a recognized provider in the local market.
“The right combination of service and relationships has helped us remain a trusted presence in the industry,” said Bill Millard of Christopher Williams. Betty Barrett added that joining World would enable them to provide clients with a broader range of services.
Rich Eknoian, CEO and co-founder of World, said the team’s client-first approach aligns well with the company’s operating model. “They are a group of professionals who take a genuine interest in their customers and their insurance needs,” he said.
The acquisition is one of several moves World has made as it looks to increase deal volume and expand geographically. In late 2024, the firm also acquired Archambault Insurance Associates, a third-generation family-owned agency serving clients in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. Founded in 1928, Archambault provides personal, commercial, life and health, and surety insurance.
World was active on the M&A front heading into 2025. After a quieter start to 2024, deal activity picked up in the second half of the year. Acquisitions included NorthStar Insurance Services, one of New England’s largest agencies, strengthening World’s position in the region.
World Insurance Associates, headquartered in Iselin, New Jersey, ranks among the top 50 insurance brokerages in the US, with operations across retail, wholesale, and wealth management segments.
