LP Insurance Services has expanded into Oregon through the addition of Salem-based Mountain West Insurance Services.
The move, which became official in August, marks LP's first presence in the state and a significant step in its continued growth across Western US.
Founded in 2014, Mountain West Insurance Services has built a strong reputation across Oregon's Willamette Valley, serving clients in construction, property development, food processing, manufacturing and general business insurance.
LP Insurance said the integration of Mountain West reflects its goal of expanding into new communities while maintaining a focus on client relationships and tailored solutions. The Salem team will continue operating locally, ensuring continuity for existing clients, while gaining access to LP's broader suite of specialised services in insurance, employee benefits and risk management.
The expansion also comes at a time when Oregon's commercial insurance and advisory market is showing steady growth. The state's property, casualty and direct insurance market is estimated at around US$3.7 billion, with workers' compensation premiums reaching nearly US$1 billion in 2022.
The Willamette Valley, where Mountain West is headquartered, remains a hub for manufacturing, construction and food production, all of which are industries that depend heavily on risk management and insurance solutions.
Market analysts noted that Oregon presents both opportunity and competition for new entrants. The state's insurance sector is mature but continues to evolve amid rising loss costs, regulatory developments and exposure to natural perils, such as wildfire and earthquake. Against this backdrop, brokers with strong local relationships and advisory depth are well-positioned to capture growth.
For LP Insurance, Oregon represents a natural extension of its Western US footprint and a change to apply its integrated model to a market that values local expertise.
