Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has promoted Boston-based Amy Bowman from vice president to head of multinational.

Hilary Browne, deputy global chief underwriting officer at BHSI, noted in the insurer’s announcement: “BHSI currently provides multinational programs and services in 178 countries around the world. Amy played a pivotal role in building our strong global network with like-minded partners who share our commitment to excellence.

“She is the perfect individual to lead our multinational business, and our multinational team, to the next level.”

With a background spanning over 20 years in both the legal and insurance sectors, Bowman brings a wealth of experience to her new position. She embarked on her journey with BHSI in 2014, initially taking up the mantle as counsel for executive & professional, healthcare, and small commercial business.

Bowman’s trajectory within the company included her transition to assistant vice president of transactional liability, a role in which she was instrumental in launching and expanding BHSI’s transactional liability proposition in the US.

Subsequently, Bowman became assistant vice president of multinational, playing a crucial role in the development and growth of BHSI’s network and multinational capabilities before she took on her most recent position as multinational vice president.

As head of multinational at BHSI, Bowman will continue to operate from Boston.
