Marsh & McLennan Companies has appointed Katherine Brennan as deputy general counsel, corporate secretary, and chief compliance officer effective October 18, 2017.

Brennan held a number of leadership roles at Marsh & McLennan from 2008 to 2015 – including senior corporate counsel and assistant corporate secretary, as well as general counsel of Guy Carpenter. She is currently senior vice president, deputy general counsel, and corporate secretary at S&P Global Inc. (formerly McGraw Hill Financial).

“I am delighted to welcome Kate back to Marsh & McLennan,” said executive vice president and general counsel Peter Beshar. “Kate’s significant industry experience, strong working relationships with our management team and board of directors, and demonstrated track record of managing complex legal, governance and regulatory matters make her an ideal choice for this important leadership role.”

Brennan will be based in Marsh & McLennan’s headquarters in New York.
