Michael A. Packer is the Managing Attorney of Marshall Dennehey’s Fort Lauderdale, Florida office and co-chair of the Am Law 200 firm’s Insurance Services Practice Group. He defends property insurers throughout Florida in first party coverage matters and provides coverage analysis and opinions of third party claims. He also defends insurance companies in bad faith lawsuits. Michael has substantial experience in alternative dispute resolution, including mediations, neutral evaluations and arbitration proceedings. He additionally oversees a group that conducts examinations under oath and SIU investigations.
Michael and his team represent many of the largest insurance carriers in Florida. Over the course of his 28-year legal career, he has defended thousands of windstorm related lawsuits, as well as other residential and commercial first party property lawsuits throughout the state. He’s tried numerous cases to verdict – both bench and jury trials – in the state and federal courts. In the midst of Florida tort reform, Michael is the go-to attorney for clients looking to navigate the new laws and recent changes to the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure.
