Road accidents are never a fun occurrence – from the dangers they pose to the logistical nightmare of recovery and whatever ensues towards a claim. Now an Allianz unit wants to make that whole process much less stressful, with the help of technology.

Allianz Worldwide Partners has rolled out a digital end-to-end accident management and recovery solution for the insurance industry aimed at easing the assistance and claims ordeal motorists have had to face following vehicular incidents. Taking the driving seat in this new service is mobile technology, in a move aligned with the firm’s digital aspirations.

“From the moment a customer reports an accident, our new recovery solution allows us to quickly locate and assist them,” explained Lee Taylor, chief sales officer for Allianz Worldwide Partners in the UK. “The customer receives a mobile notification once a recovery operator is en-route, including a link allowing them to track the progress of the operator via their smartphone or mobile device.

“We also gather vital information to support the claims administration, in turn reducing stress levels and streamlining the whole process.”

The service features ‘on scene’ photography, wherein recovery operators immediately assess and record the scene by capturing and sharing pertinent digital images, enabling informed decisions related to claims – in partnership with the handler – such as whether the vehicle needs to be written off or recovered.

“Our customers need us most when they are in stressful circumstances, such as a road traffic accident, and digital solutions can help us deliver the best level of care,” added Taylor. “This launch is yet another step towards achieving our ‘Digital by Default’ ambition, harnessing the latest technology to enhance the customer experience every step of the way.”
