British insurance giant Aviva has today announced that it has agreed a new five-year distribution deal covering non-stand motor and van insurance with personal lines customers with Prestige Underwriting Services (Prestige).

The agreement, which runs until 2026, builds on an existing relationship that sees Aviva underwrite motor and non-standard home policies for Prestige. This latest deal will see Aviva underwrite cover for non-standard motor and van risks throughout the UK and will be distributed through Prestige Underwriting’s network of 600 brokers and affinity partners.

Discussing the partnership, Aviva’s distribution director David Skinn said the insurer is delighted to extend its relationship with Prestige on the back of their already successful agreement for motor and non-standard home cover. This is a great opportunity for Aviva to further expand its underwriting footprint in the non-standard motor market, he said, and one that will allow it to continue to drive growth through its personal lines business.

Alison Williams, managing director at Prestige Underwriting, also commented on the deal and noted that Prestige already has a strong relationship with Aviva in the Northern Ireland motor market and is now in the second year of its non-standard home insurance partnership for UK brokers.

“We are absolutely delighted to build on the successes we have achieved together to date and to expand our trading footprint in non-standard motor and van risks in partnership with Aviva,” she said. “As a business, we are excited to re-enter the non-standard motor market with our continually evolving product portfolio. We are fully committed to growing our business by continuing to deliver niche solutions to our valued network of brokers and partners as we embark on our extended and expanded partnership with Aviva, the UK’s leading insurer."
