LV= Broker will be using driving data collected from O2 Drive’s on-board telematics box in coming up with more accurate insurance premiums.

With the addition of the Highway Telematics scheme, the insurer is now part of the motor telematics panel for O2 Drive.

“Telematics products are hugely important in today’s market – not only do they guide drivers towards good practice, they also allow insurers to price more accurately, which is something we’re always striving to do,” said Michael Lawrence, LV= Broker director of personal lines. He described O2 as a strong brand that isn’t afraid to do things a little differently.

O2 digital director David Plumb aims to make customers’ lives easier with O2 Drive. “Through a combination of O2’s award-winning customer service and LV= Broker’s strong heritage in the insurance market, we share a joint ambition to increase the role of telematics and ultimately reward customers for how they drive.”

O2 was the first mobile company in the UK to offer car insurance with the launch of its O2 Drive proposition in 2015. The business eventually added its telematics product O2 Drive – Box on Board and offered more reasonable premiums for responsible young drivers.
