RKH Specialty is hoping its aviation team will soar after trebling in size.

The firm has brought in 14 senior aviation experts across London and Colombia as it outlined a wider plan to build the “largest independent logistics team” when incorporating its resources in cargo, marine and aviation.

The team will be led by global head of aviation, Jason Humphreys, who joined the firm back in February.

“The aviation market has seen seismic shifts over the last 24 months but with our newly expanded team, we are now positioned perfectly to take advantage of global opportunities in the aviation sector,” he said. “Seeking out and attracting the very best talent to join our already strong team is a key strategy for us and these hires represent a great leap forward for RKH. By October 2020, we will have gone from a seven-person team in London to a team of 21, with dedicated aviation hubs in two continents.”

The new hires in London are: divisional director Alex Robinson; divisional director Chris Vince, who joins on October 02; divisional director Marcio Rosset; associate director David Clewley; associate director Karen Korkmaz; associate director Michael Dumenil; senior account executive David Bowers; account executive Ross Millar, who joins on July 06; and divisional director Simon Smith, who joins in December.

Meanwhile, over in Colombia, both Alejandro Ramirez Gomez and Maria Claudia Forero Mendoza become joint LATAM heads of aviation, and are joined by account executives Alexandra Bernal and Nayibe Galvis.

“In current market conditions, clients need both new and creative routes to market across all specialty lines,” said managing director of RKH Specialty Darren Norris. “Over the years we have built market-leading practices across the full spectrum of specialties and we believe there are opportunities in the aviation market where we can bring something new for clients.

“Tough market conditions stimulate innovation and we intend to be at the forefront of those changes, maximising our expertise and service levels across our international hub offices. By accessing all of the world’s markets through one united team of experts, we can provide the best service and marketing expertise for our clients.”
