APRIL International has announced two new hires – Agne Gacionyte (pictured above left) has been appointed to the newly created role of UK marketing manager, while Roshani Thapa (pictured above right) has joined as broker sales consultant.

The specialist international private medical insurance (IPMI) provider also added two additional staff to its client support and claims departments.

Gacionyte most recently held a senior marketing role at AXA Health. She has more than seven years of experience in the industry and will draw on her experience of managing SME engagement and strategic media partnerships in supporting APRIL International’s continued growth.

Thapa was previously with Aetna International, where she was responsible for providing support to the UK sales and retention teams for SME and large corporate accounts.

“Together, these four appointments will enable us to support the growth achieved over the last two years, but importantly, they also give us the foundations and capacity to build our business further in the future,” said Joe Thomas, APRIL International UK managing director. “At the end of 2021, we were rated top by over 200 brokers canvassed in an important industry survey. As a group, we have always focused on delivering rapid claims settlement and a strong and fast response for brokers, whether for technical advice or more general business development support. As growth is delivered, we will continue to invest in the business, so brokers and clients alike can be sure that their business is in the safe hands.”

APRIL International was recently recognised by an IPMI industry report, receiving the overall five-star award for broker support, claims handling and service. Last year, the company reported strong growth in sales, together with high retention rates of existing clients, as the business emerged from the last two years of disruption caused by the pandemic.
