Arc Legal Assistance is serious about the Irish market.

The legal expenses specialist has announced that it is opening a new branch in the Republic of Ireland and that it will be headed up by Peter Harvey (pictured), who will assume the role of head of business – Ireland. Harvey makes the switch from Arthur J Gallagher where he led the firm’s Northern Ireland personal lines business, and he can also count being the insurer relationship manager for Swinton among his previous lines of employment.

“We were delighted that Peter agreed to come and join us,” said Richard Finan, director of distribution at Arc Legal. “He is a quality individual that we have worked with as a client for a number of years. He is well known and respected and has a significant track record in the insurance market and was the ideal appointment to manage our new Dublin branch.”

The firm has also confirmed a full-suite of add-on insurance products for the market – including key cover, personal accident, breakdown assistance and windscreen insurance – further emphasising how serious it is about rivalling its competitors for Irish domination.

“We are growing our market share in Ireland with some excellent new business wins and product developments recently,” added Finan. “It was the right time for us to invest in a permanent presence to support our clients and to build on our recent success. The Irish market has been dominated by one provider for too long – we now offer a credible and sustainable alternative.”
