A new underwriting business formed from units of AmTrust Financial Group has launched: Arc Legal Group.

Arc Legal Group is the union of Arc Legal Assistance - a member of the AmTrust Financial Group - with two units that it recently acquired: Legal Insurance Management (LIM) and AmTrust Underwriting Limited (AUL).

The combined group offers a suite of tailored ancillary insurance products including accident & health, legal expenses insurance, and assistance products including home and motor breakdown. A company release also added that Arc Legal Group manages over 23 million insurance policies and writes in excess of £70 million net written premium across all product lines.

“Arc Legal has long been established as a market leader in legal expenses insurance. Now, thanks to the acquisition of a number of complementary businesses over the past two years, and an extended period of significant growth, we can fulfil our ambition to become the go-to provider for a whole range of ancillary products and services,” said Arc Legal Group chief executive Frank O’Malley.

“Our completely flexible approach to developing bespoke products, and ethos of continuous innovation enables us to work closely with providers to create full-service products and services, not available anywhere else.”

O’Malley added that Arc Legal Group looks forward to its official launch party at BIBA this May.

“In bringing together complementary businesses from across the ancillary market we have created a powerful corporate entity, committed to leading the market in providing a full range of innovative, future-proofed solutions delivered by experts,” said AmTrust International Fee Businesses head Grady Womack. “The new Arc Legal Group will be a hub for ancillary services, helping brokers and insurers to find and deliver the right products for their clients’ needs.”
