In early September, group CEO of Aston Lark Peter Blanc revealed to Insurance Business that the brokerage has an exceptionally busy pipeline of deals and this has been further evidenced today by its acquisition of Dunsby Associates.

Birmingham city centre-based Dunsby Associates, which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary, is a commercial broker with a clear focus on customer service and a GWP of £6 million. The business acts for large commercial clients and is made up of a long-standing team of 12, providing insurance and risk management advice and negotiating bespoke deals.

Discussing the acquisition, Blanc said he is delighted to welcome Dunsby Associates to the Aston Lark family as this is a high-quality business with an ethos of customer care. Clients of the business will benefit from the scale of the group and the direct access it offers to the London market, he stated, as well as its extensive private client and employee benefits offerings.

“We’ve been keen to build out further in the Midlands,” he said, “and this acquisition positions our Birmingham branch as one of the largest in the group.”

The MD of Dunsby Associates, Neil Dunsby noted that the business is formed of a dedicated team which has been instrumental in its development over the last decade. Dunsby has been built on strong client relationships, he said, and is looking forward to developing this as well as expanding its offering as part of Aston Lark.

“After meeting with Peter and Stuart it was clear that their philosophy is aligned to ours,” he said. “This acquisition is a great strategic fit for the Dunsby team and our clients will benefit as a result. It will also enhance our growth plans without changing our focus on client service.”
