Aston Lark Ireland has acquired Pembroke Insurances Limited.

Founded in 2007 by Graham Weir and John McGuire, Pembroke Insurances offers commercial insurance solutions. Since its establishment, it has grown to become a trusted name within the Irish insurance sector, a release said.

“We have known Graham, Paul and the Pembroke Insurances team for a long time,” said Aston Lark Ireland CEO Robert Kennedy. “They have always shared our vision and culture for insurance broking due to their commitment to delivering outstanding service and building much-valued relationships with clients and insurers alike.”

Kennedy added that Aston Lark Ireland is focused on becoming the broker of choice in Ireland, and the acquisition of Pembroke was “another step forward in realising that ambition.”

“We are delighted to be joining the Aston Lark family of companies,” said Pembroke Insurances managing director Graham Weir. “We feel that we have a shared ethos and goals and that this move will further strengthen our ability to provide world-class service and value to our customers while retaining our culture.”

Weir also mentioned that since Pembroke’s founding in 2007, the company has steadily developed its customer and insurance relations – joining the Aston Lark group makes sense as it is “the next logical step on [Pembroke’s] journey,” the managing director said.

“We are excited about entering this next phase of our journey and would like to assure all our customers and staff of our continued dedication to providing the best service,” commented Pembroke Insurance director Paul Murphy. “With the shared ethos and culture between Pembroke and Aston Lark and joining a larger company, we can further enhance our service and offering to our customers.”

Aston Lark, a chartered insurance broker, is a Howden company. It joined Howden in April 2022.

The broker recently posted its 2021 results, revealing £160.1 million in revenue – a 75% year-over-year jump from 2020. In addition, Aston Lark’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation grew 82% in 2021.
