AXA Life Invest has appointed Robert Higginbotham as regional sales manager, as well as eight retirement specialists to be advisers’ first point of contact for the firm’s drawdown products.

Higginbotham previously worked at Royal London Pensions. At AXA, he will be in charge of engaging with financial advisers in the UK’s central regions such as Wales, the Midlands, East Anglia and the South East.

The new retirement specialists hired from outside the company are Donovan Davey, Rob Fairbrother, Neville Hutchinson, Chetan Mistry, Matt Nelson, and Neill Timbrel.

Before joining AXA, Fairbrother worked at Liverpool Victoria; Hutchinson was an independent account manager at Zurich Insurance; Mistry was at Antonor as an independent financial adviser; and Timbrell held positions at Aegon, Aviva and Provident Mutual.

Meanwhile, Josh Harding-Wyatt and Christian Feroze were both promoted internally from the sales team.

The firm is also searching for various positions to be filled, such as its telephone sales and sales support teams.

According to AXA Life Invest UK sales director Lee Badger: “Savers no longer want an off-the-shelf solution. Our retirement specialists help advisers to tailor-make pensions for clients’ individual needs, adding and removing benefits and features as the client's circumstances change.”
