Three AXA XL executives have been promoted in the UK as AXA Group’s property & casualty and specialty risk division ‘moves forward as one’.

Allan Murley, who came onboard XL Group in 2014 as a client & distribution leader, is now AXA XL’s head of broker management in the UK. The HSB Engineering alumnus previously served as business & broker development head at Zurich.

Also elevated effective immediately is Tim Smith, who takes on the role of head of client management, UK. Smith – whose nearly three decades of industry experience includes time spent at Willis, Independent Insurance, QBE, and Zurich – joined the company last year as a senior casualty underwriter.

Christine Cook, meanwhile, has become head of portfolio solutions, UK. She has been with AXA XL, through predecessor company Catlin, since 2001. From 2016 Cook was senior class underwriter for portfolio deals.

“I am delighted that Allan, Tim, and Christine have been appointed in their new roles,” commented head of UK client & distribution Louise Piper.

“As we move forward as one AXA XL, they will play an essential role in delivering our strategy for UK clients and brokers and providing them with access to the broader capabilities of the AXA Group.”

All three will be based in London.
