The independent personal lines and commercial insurance broker Be Wiser Insurance (Be Wiser) has today revealed the appointment of Jeff Brinley as its new CEO. Be Wiser noted that Brinley, who joined the business as CFO in November 2020, will replace former CEO Sharon Beckett who stepped down from her role at the beginning of January 2021 to pursue other interests.

Commenting on the news, Be Wiser chairman, Neil Macmillan highlighted Brinley’s experience as a C-suite insurance executive and stated he has already made a positive impact on the business. Macmillan said he is delighted that Brinley will step up to the role of CEO to drive the broker forward and that he looks forward to working alongside him in his new role.

Meanwhile, the founder of the Andover-based broker, Mark Bower-Dyke, paid tribute to Beckett for her “immense contribution” to Be Wiser since she joined in 2018 and wished her every future success.

Brinley, whose experience before joining Be Wiser includes 29 years at Endsleigh Insurance and a stint at Zurich, said he is honoured to be leading the business as it moves into 2021.

“Be Wiser has invested in building a really strong team over the last year,” he said, “and we’re now well-placed to make the most of the new opportunities arising in the UK commercial and personal lines markets as the economy emerges from the pandemic and life after Brexit.”
