Brightside Group has signed a major lead transfer contract with MORE Th>N.

The deal is an extension to its existing commercial contract with the insurer and is expected to last until 2020 if a ‘year one proof of concept’ is successful.

Brightside’s One Insurance Solution (OIS) will handle the bulk of the business from MORE TH>N. OIS’s managing director, David Sweeney, said the deal makes OIS “one of the biggest lead transfer players in the UK insurance market.”

“By ‘lead transfer,’ we mean the transfer of potentially new clients from one provider that has a specific underwriting footprint to a broker who can provide a solution,” Sweeney explained. “We will take on home, car, van, courier/haulier and landlord risks which currently fall outside MORE TH>N’s risk appetite.

“We will also be assisting MORE TH>N with their liability and packages book (shops and offices). Customers will also be transferred directly to OIS from MORE TH>N’s telephony IVRs as well as from the website.”

The existing Brightside/OIS panels will underwrite the business, which will be branded CVD for van, Brightside Car for car insurance, and OIS for all other risks. The extension highlights the Group’s focus on developing its niche and specialist business proposition, Sweeney added.

“The group now has the capability to become one of the UK’s top providers of non-standard insurance. Our model has strong appeal to other insurers looking to capture revenue from this class of business,” he said.

John Ellenger, head of revenue generation at MORE TH>N said: “We are delighted to extend this important partnership with OIS and Brightside, and believe that we will be able to improve the service we provide for our customers by extending the way that we service their specific needs.”

We'll bring you an exclusive interview with Brightside's Group CEO later today.
