With so many of us stuck in limbo amid the present coronavirus lockdown, the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has moved to reassure learners who are hoping to take their written exams.

It has announced that the AF1 personal tax and trust planning and AF5 financial planning exams – the two that receive the highest number of learner entries from its curriculum – will now both be available in July.

“It is increasingly important that because of the regulatory qualification requirements as well as member feedback and demand for these units specifically, the personal finance courses we accredit have been prioritised and will remain as widely available as possible, especially during these unprecedented times,” said CEO of the Personal Finance Society Keith Richards. “Where there is a lack of certainty within the economy at any point in time, coupled today with the longer term impact likely to be caused by the current emergency measures, ensuring future capacity and access to professional advice has never been more critical.

“Other measures are being put in place to increase availability to other units as soon as possible and will be communicated when available.”

Candidates who had booked for either of the examinations in April will be contacted and notified of their rescheduling to July.
