Cobra London Markets has appointed industry veteran Chris Cullen as the new head of its casualty division.

Cullen has 30 years of industry experience and held various roles in well-known insurance companies such as QBE, ACE, Norwich Union, and London & Edinburgh. Before joining Cobra London Markets, he served as the head of UK liability at Tokio Marine, where he was responsible for both the Company & Lloyds platforms.

Under the new role, Cullen will lead the Cobra London Markets casualty division into a new phase of development and growth as rates increase and capacity reduces in the market.

“We have come a long way since insurance was submitted via proposal forms in the post and paid for by cheque,” Cullen said. “I am looking forward to being part of a new team, turning my hand to insurance broking, and working with people I have known for many years. Providing exceptional service and maintaining client relationships are keys to a successful broking business.”

Andrew Walsh, the managing director of Cobra London Markets and Citynet, commented that Cullen's appointment reinforces the company's commitment to “invest in quality individuals to strengthen its proposition to the market” and support clients further.

Richard Scott, the chief executive officer of Cobra London Markets and Citynet, added: “We are delighted to welcome Chris into the firm. We have traded with him for many years, and his experience, knowledge, and contacts will prove invaluable in helping us grow and service the account.”
