Commercial Express, the leading managing general agent based in the Midlands, has beefed up its team with six new recruits to keep up with the company’s rapid growth.

The firm has appointed Kellie Stephens to the role of underwriting service manager. With over 23 years in the industry, Stephens was most recently operations manager at AXA Commercial’s Birmingham branch and worked at Norwich Union, Aviva and Crawford & Crawford.

Alison Wright has joined Commercial Express as compliance manager and will oversee all procedures and policies related to compliance activities. She has been in financial services, welfare to work and the education sector for eight years.

Commercial Express has also hired Lee Roberts, who previously worked at RBS, Towergate and QBE, as SME underwriter. Richard Homer has joined the property owner’s team, bringing over five years of experience in commercial insurance.

The company has also recruited Matt Cheadle as renewals underwriter and Rhiannon Allport as telephonist to help speed up client service.

“We are very much an evolving business and have hugely ambitious plans to expand even further in the coming years,” said Commercial Express managing director Duncan Pritchard.

“These new appointments provide us with a consolidated team, ensuring we have the right expertise in-house, and enabling us to take a tailored approach to individual customer needs,” he added.
