Chester-based community brokerage Daulby Read Insurance Brokers has acquired Townsends Insurance Brokers for an undisclosed sum.
Daulby Read’s announcement noted that the snapped up firm, which operates in Prestatyn, will continue to be manned by its current workforce and retain the Townsends name. Expansion, meanwhile, is on the horizon.
“We will be looking to grow the business with investment in people and systems as well as enhancing the product range,” stated Daulby Read, led by managing director Peter Goddard, in a LinkedIn update. “Daulby Read is committed to keeping community broking vibrant and relevant to its communities.”
In a separate post, the new Townsends owner cited a handful of people who helped with the acquisition. These include former Broker Network chief network officer and current Critical Friendship Partnership MD Richard Pitt, as well as ex-Brokerbility CEO and now Brokerring chief executive Stuart Randall.
Daulby Read expressed gratitude for the duo’s “support and guidance through this process” and also thanked Broker Network executives for their role in the businesses’ integration.
