Emma Watson – obviously not the English actress of Harry Potter fame – has been appointed as class underwriter for property treaty at Barbican Insurance Group.

Making the switch from CNA Hardy, where Watson was senior underwriter for property treaty, the highly technical underwriter brings more than a decade of experience in the property treaty arena. She will report to underwriting manager for property treaty Tom Gwynn.

“I am excited to be joining Tom and the property treaty team,” commented the new class underwriter. “They are known for their agile and service-driven approach, and I am keen to explore ways in which we can further strengthen that position and our overall market proposition.”

Meanwhile Gwynn described the key hire, with her considerable market knowledge across multiple territories, as a great addition to the team.

“I am certain that she will play a central part in our ongoing work to boost our market standing and advance our capabilities in this demanding sector,” he said.
