A series of senior appointments have been announced across the insurance market, spanning multinational leadership, real estate underwriting, legal expenses and specialty operations in Europe.
Dobias succeeds Guy Money, who was named regional managing director for Iberia in March.
In line with the existing multinational strategy, Dobias will be tasked with driving client-centric solutions, unlocking growth through an expertise-led approach, rolling out market-leading technologies worldwide and scaling the recently launched Multinational Excellence Center in Madrid.
Dobias joined Allianz in London in 2003 and has since held roles across Germany, Singapore and Hong Kong, including underwriting and a regional sales position with Allianz Partners.
Over the past six years, he has held leadership roles in Multinational, where he was part of the team that established Multinational as a dedicated function. He also led the launch of the Multinational Excellence Center in Madrid in the first quarter of 2026.
Specialist legal expenses insurer Temple Legal Protection has promoted Sean Fayle (pictured, right) to its board of directors as director, head of BTE products and underwriting.
Fayle has almost 30 years’ experience in the legal expenses market, working across underwriting, sales and relationship management. Since joining Temple in 2018, he has played a key role in developing the company’s before-the-event (BTE) offering and in positioning Temple as a growing provider to membership organisations and associations, including specialist sectors such as the emergency services and professional bodies.
In his expanded role, he will continue to lead a national team across underwriting, claims and business development. His focus will be on strengthening Temple’s established BTE portfolio, working closely with brokers and existing clients while building new relationships with partner intermediaries.
Real estate MGA Ventis has appointed Peter Mitchell as new business development underwriter, in a move aimed at supporting its expansion in the mid-market commercial and residential property space.
Based in London, Mitchell will act as the primary point of contact for a panel of Ventis’ mid-market brokers. He will be responsible for writing new business on this panel and managing ongoing relationships, in a newly created role designed to underpin the firm’s growth in this segment.
Mitchell brings more than a decade of experience as a trading underwriter and insurance data manager at Plum Underwriting and, most recently, at Accelerant. Ventis said his data-led underwriting background will be central as the MGA continues to build out its digital trading capabilities and tech-enabled underwriting.
The Fortegra Group, Inc. has appointed Iwan Röpcke as chief executive officer for Belgium, as the specialty insurer looks to strengthen its presence across the Benelux region.
Röpcke brings more than 25 years of insurance industry experience spanning broking, commercial leadership and executive management in Belgium, the Netherlands and wider European markets.
He joins Fortegra from Lloyd’s Insurance Company S.A., where he served as country manager for Belgium and the Netherlands, helping to build out the operation from its early stages and overseeing business strategy and development.
Prior to Lloyd’s, Röpcke held senior leadership roles at Willis Towers Watson (via Gras Savoye), where he was head of sales and head of the competence centre. His earlier career includes positions at Inter Partner Assistance (AXA Assistance) as commercial director Benelux, as well as roles at Winterthur Europe Assurances, AIG Europe, Aon Belgium and Marsh.
