Three firms have announced major leadership appointments across the insurance market.
Insurance Compliance Services (ICS) has appointed Isabella Macfarlane (pictured left) as head of London Markets. Macfarlane, who joined the company from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), will consult with ICS’s broker and managing general agent clients, particularly those preparing for enhanced scope status under the senior managers and certification regime (SMCR). Her focus includes governance, oversight, and monitoring support.
During her time at the FCA, Macfarlane worked with the wholesale insurance market interventions supervision team. She contributed to the development and implementation of the regulator’s culture and non-financial misconduct survey, later released to the market. She also led efforts examining the role of non-admitted insurers used by UK intermediaries. Before her regulatory tenure, Macfarlane held underwriting posts at Ecclesiastical and XL Catlin.
“I’ve been impressed by the ICS team’s diligent, practical approach for a number of years so I am delighted to be joining and bringing my skills to the business,” said Macfarlane. “I know how effective compliance can enhance commercial success and can help identify ways regulatory alignment can support broader business goals.”
Meanwhile, RSA has named Tovah Grosscurth (pictured centre) as managing director for its UK commercial lines business. Her appointment, pending regulatory approval, follows the departure of Sonya Bryson, who will remain with the company during the transition.
Grosscurth has been with RSA for nearly three decades, most recently leading the commercial lines E-trade division.
As managing director, Grosscurth will report to RSA UK & International CEO Ken Norgrove and take responsibility for the unit’s strategy, financial performance, and day-to-day operations.
“I’m confident Tovah will build on the momentum we have in the business and use her strong leadership and operational expertise to drive our transformation in becoming the UK’s best commercial lines insurer,” said Norgrove.
Konsileo has added US-based insurance executive Joe Zuk (pictured right) to its board of directors.
Zuk, an operating partner at Altamont Capital Partners, joins as an independent director. His appointment is intended to support Konsileo’s ongoing expansion.
Zuk’s background includes broking, underwriting, MGA operations, and corporate strategy. He previously held leadership roles at Orchid Underwriters and Atlas General Holdings and was involved in establishing reinsurance facilities focused on property and casualty markets. He also advises several Altamont-affiliated insurance firms operating in the UK.
