Totnes-based Naturesave Policies Ltd has been sold to financial planning and specialist insurance service company Lloyd & Whyte Ltd.

The Taunton firm’s swoop, financial terms of which were not disclosed, was announced by Foot Anstey LLP. The law firm advised Naturesave Policies shareholders on the transaction.

Set up in 1993 and trading as Naturesave Insurance, the so-called “green and ethical” provider insures green homes, organisations, and individuals, and donates 10% of its annual personal insurance premiums to The Naturesave Trust.

The charitable trust was formed by the business in 1995, with the goal of supporting environmental, conservation, and community renewable energy projects in the UK.

Buyer Lloyd & Whyte, meanwhile, is a broker within the Benefact Group, which itself is owned by a charity and whose profits also go towards good causes.
