The Fine Art, Jewellers Block and Specie (FAJS) division of Lonmar Global Risks – a Brown & Brown company – has today announced its appointment of a team of five specialists from Price Forbes.

The move will bolster the size of Lonmar’s fine art, jewellery and specie unit by a third, making it a team of 15, and will bring a range of complementary capabilities in jewellers block (JB) and cash in transit (CIT) insurance.

The new hires, which began their respective roles in July, are led by Edward Longe (pictured), head of the specie wholesale team, who reports to Aqua Sanfelice who leads the division. Richard Phillips, David Cobb, Susan Raffel and Martyna Samec complete the new appointments, and all will report to Longe.

Commenting on the move, Sanfelice said: “Securing Edward and his colleagues is a major coup for us, and they will make an immediate, significant difference to the breadth and depth of our JB, CIT and GS proposition.

“They give us new capability across all Specie sub classes globally with specific emphasis in North America, Turkey and India,  and strengthen our existing links in South America. Moreover, we now have a strong jewellers block customer base in the Far East. These new areas of focus build on our high-performing portfolio in UK and Swiss Retail Fine Art (trading under the Lonmart brand) and European wholesale fine art and jewellers block business.”

Sanfelice added that the new team is a “highly respected, experienced unit” which will provide Lonmar with expansion opportunities, especially via its owners Brown & Brown, as the firm is now in a strong position to support the business from its teammates in the US and Canada.

Longe also commented on the news on behalf of the new team and said: “Being part of the Brown & Brown team, where the focus is on entrepreneurship and passion, is very exciting for us, and we fully expect to leverage that relationship for the benefit of the group and our customers.

“I have great respect for Aqua and her achievements to date, and we are looking forward to playing our part in the continued success for Lonmar globally across the jewellers block and specie space.”
