Liverpool Victoria (LV=) will add two managing directors to its group executive team later this month, the leading insurer has announced.

The company has promoted John Perks, managing director of its retirement solutions business, and Myles Rix, managing director of its protection business.

The changes, which will take effect on July 26, reflect the strategic importance of both retirement solutions and protection businesses, LV= said.

Commenting on the changes, incoming LV= chief executive Richard Rowney said the company has the right senior team in place as both Perks and Rix have extensive retirement and protection experience.

“Having worked closely with them I am fully aware of their capability and the value they bring to our business,” Rowney said.

Perks, who has been in the industry for 25 years, joined LV= in 2007 as customer solutions director. He covered all proposition development for the group’s life and pensions business.

Before moving to LV=, Perks was director of protection at Prudential UK and held senior roles at AXA and Swiss Life.

Rix, meanwhile, joined LV= in 2008 as actuarial and strategy director and later served as finance and commercial director for the life and pensions business.

With over 20 years of industry experience, Rix also worked at Skandia Life and Aviva UK, where he was the financial and commercial director for health.
