We’re edging ever closer to two giants of the global broking sector becoming one – and as we draw nearer to that time Marsh has revealed a host of appointments for its key Marsh-JLT specialty leaders for the UK and Ireland that will become effective once the transaction between Marsh & McLennan Companies and JLT receives the official regulatory green light.

“Our clients value Marsh’s global reach, product expertise and risk advisory capabilities,” said Chris Lay, CEO of Marsh UK & Ireland. “I look forward to working with my future colleagues at JLT to deliver even stronger specialty capabilities to clients.”

Already confirmed earlier this week, Paul Moody is set to take on the role of head of Marsh-JLT Specialty for the UK and Ireland, reporting to future president of Marsh-JLT Specialty Lucy Clarke, as well as Lay himself. Now a host of new appointees have been named.

Among them are:

  • Peter Elson, the current UK CEO of aerospace at JLT who is set to move into the role of UK & Ireland CEO of aviation. That move will see Mark Costin, currently UK & Ireland CEO of aviation and space at Marsh become UK & Ireland deputy CEO of aviation.

  • Gordon Longley, who holds the position of UK CEO of marine and cargo at JLT will become UK & Ireland CEO of marine.
  • Matt Strong, UK CEO of credit, political & security risk at JLT becomes UK & Ireland CEO of credit specialty.

  • Paul Denny, the UK & Ireland CEO of financial lines and professional liability (FINPRO) at Marsh becomes UK & Ireland CEO of FINPRO. That move also sees Sarah Hughes, the current UK CEO of financial lines at JLT move into the role of UK & Ireland CEO of FINPRO.

  • Tim Smith, UK CEO of construction at JLT, now becomes UK & Ireland CEO of construction and real estate – a move that also sees Philip Lazell, UK & Ireland CEO of construction and real estate for Marsh become UK & Ireland chairman of construction and real estate.

  • Andrew Hunt, the UK & Ireland CEO of private equity and mergers and acquisitions (PEMA) becomes UK & Ireland CEO of PEMA.

  • Andrew Herring, UK & Ireland CEO of energy and power for Marsh becomes UK & Ireland CEO of energy and power. That move also sees Rupert Mackenzie, the current CEO of energy for JLT, become UK & Ireland deputy CEO of energy and power; while Andrew Barnes, UK chairman of energy for JLT, becomes UK & Ireland chairman of energy and power.
