Nearly half a million pounds in the form of lavish home rental, a Land Rover Discovery, multiple US visits, and other luxuries – these were the things allegedly enjoyed by Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage after the European Union referendum, supposedly thanks to insurance millionaire and famed Brexit donor Arron Banks.

In a detailed exposé, Channel 4 News cited invoices and emails showing how Banks allegedly spent on the European Parliament member. Banks-owned Rock Services Ltd, for instance, is said to have leased a Chelsea property for Farage in summer 2016.

In addition to the furnished three-bedroom home, the British programme claimed that a private office in Westminster – complete with a personal assistant – was also provided, as well as the abovementioned £32,300 vehicle which came with a close protection driver.

In addition, Channel 4 News said Banks’s camp funded several trips to the US as part of the supposed bid to promote “Brand Farage” across the pond. According to its probe, these included a July 2016 business class flight to Ohio which saw Farage attend the Republican National Convention.

Farage has refused to comment on the allegations.

As for the insurance millionaire, he had this to say, as quoted by the ITN-produced programme: “Channel 4 attempts to smear myself and Nigel, come at a time when the Brexit Party is riding high in the polls, so it should come as no surprise to anyone.”
