Deputy active underwriter Andrew Pecover has been promoted to chief underwriting officer at Newline Group.

In a release, the specialty insurance group said Pecover will be in charge of the underwriting operations of Newline Syndicate 1218 and Newline Insurance Company Limited. The only underwriting platform within the group that the new CUO won’t be responsible for is Newline Europe Versicherung AG.

“Andy is a talented individual who has accomplished a great deal since joining us, and has demonstrated his ability to take on increasing levels of responsibility,” commented Newline Group chief executive Carl Overy.

“His solid leadership, extensive experience, and firm commitment to Newline’s disciplined underwriting approach will enable us to continue the momentum we’ve built over the last few years and lead us to new heights.”

Based in London, Pecover has been with the business since 2018 and brings more than two and a half decades of industry experience to the post.

William Beveridge, who was Newline Group’s CUO from 2020, has moved to the UK P&I Club.
