PIB Group (PIB) has revealed its latest acquisition – Rigton Insurance Services (Rigton), a Leeds-based Chartered brokerage which specialises in providing niche products to the transport industry. This is the latest in a series of acquisitions PIB has made recently, including that of UKinsuranceNET and Marx Re-Insurance Brokers.

Formed in 1974, Rigton’s services include bus and coach insurance, schemes with Classic Preserved Bus, Heritage and Narrow Gauge Railway in addition to the model retailers and manufacturers sector. As per the terms of the deal, the team at Rigton will remain with the business, and the previous owners, Roland Wilcox and Margaret Wilcox will provide support on a consultancy basis.

Discussing this latest acquisition, CEO of PIB Brendan McManus extended a warm welcome to everybody at the brokerage and noted that this addition will further broaden the niche offering across PIB Group.

“Roland and Margaret have built a strong business with year on year growth, which is testament to

the team’s experience and expertise in the market and of their specific products, as well as excellent customer care,” he said. “Through PIB’s investment and support, I look forward to enabling further growth and new opportunities for everyone at Rigton.”

Commenting on the acquisition, Roland Wilcox said the business is delighted to become part of the PIB Group organisation, and the management team at PIB have demonstrated their passion to move forward through acquisitions and growth within niche areas of business.

“We feel Rigton will develop very well within their well thought out and planned strategy for the future,” he said. “We are very impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of the PIB team and look forward to working with them in the future."
