Specialist home renovation insurance provider Renovation Plan has tapped AXA to become its new designated insurer. The alignment with one of the world’s largest insurers will enable Renovation Plan to make enhancements to its insurance offering.

Part of the Aston Lark group, Renovation Plan has been offering insurance solutions for renovations, extensions, conversions, self-builds and new-builds for almost 20 years. It is also the only home renovation insurance scheme approved by the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA).

The scheme serves both the wholesale and retail markets, offering three levels of coverage. Existing benefits of Renovation Plan’s insurance services include flexible three to 36 months policies with two weeks of free extension as standard.

Through the partnership, Renovation Plan will receive an increased total sum insured limit of £10 million and an increase from £2 million to £5 million in public liability as an optional extra. AXA will also enable Renovation Plan to lower the minimum premium on its most advanced cover, Premier Plus, from £697 to £529, subject to certain sum insured restrictions.

“I am delighted that Renovation Plan is now exclusively partnering with AXA,” said Dean Wright, Divisional Director at Aston Lark. “With both our businesses focused on clients’ needs, it was a perfect match and I look forward to working closely with AXA to continue the strong growth of Renovation Plan.”

In March 2021, a broker portal for Renovation Plan was launched online to enable brokers to process mid-term adjustments and bind cover or download documents, as well as communicate with Aston Lark’s Renovation Plan team.
