Commercial insurer RSA has revealed the 12 up-and-coming brokers participating in the third edition of its broker leader programme.

The mentoring scheme will see the 12 undergo general insurance management and leadership training for seven months. Focus areas include strategy, business planning, human resources, talent management, and financial management.

CPD accredited by the Chartered Insurance Institute, the intensive programme requires participants from RSA’s broking partners to work on a live project from their brokerage to ensure relevance and practicality. Each broker is partnered with a different member of the RSA leadership team.

Here are the participating brokers for this year:
  • Samuel Ashby - Towergate
  • Sam Aslett - Aston Scott
  • Nick Barr - GS Group
  • Joe Bishop - Paymentshield
  • Katie Brickell - RK Harrison
  • Charlotte Eggleton - Higos
  • Peter Gee - Butterworth Spengler
  • Steven Low - Clark Thomson
  • Amy Manning - Touchstone
  • Alex Royce - Accelerate
  • Mark Rubidge - AJ Gallagher
  • Alistair Warden -Towergate
“We are delighted to launch our broker leader programme for the third year and to support these talented brokers in realising their career aspirations and building their networks,” said RSA sales & distribution director Owen Thomas. “Training and development for both our own people and our partners is a key part of RSA’s strategy, and helps us to foster lasting relationships with brokers.”

Thomas added: “We already provide highly successful CII CPD-accredited technical learning labs as well as the broker leader programme, which demonstrates our commitment to brokers by supporting the development and retention of their talented future leaders.”

The programme will run until April 2018, with brokers presenting their business plans for scrutiny by a panel made up of RSA executives and a sponsor from their own broking firm.
