Sutton Winson (SW) has announced Neil Hobbs’ (pictured above) appointment as a director and board member, pending approval from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

Hobbs has been part of the SW team for two decades, having joined the company as an account technician within the corporate commercial broking team in 2004. Over the years, Hobbs has ascended through the ranks, including leading the commercial team since 2011.

Prior to his current tenure at SW, Hobbs also had a seven-year stint at Hill House Hammond Insurance Brokers.

In his new role, Hobbs will be charged with guiding and enhancing the operational efficiency of SW’s Private Clients division, the arm responsible for the firm’s high-net-worth (HNW) clients.

“I’m absolutely delighted to take on the role as director and would like to thank my colleagues and the rest of the SW board for their best wishes. I’m excited to be leading our already very successful Private Clients division, who continue to deliver a first-class service to our clients, putting them at the centre of everything that they do,” Hobbs said.

Additionally, Hobbs will also maintain his current responsibilities, which include overseeing commercial broking & operations, merger and acquisitions, and insurer management.

Gareth Roberts, managing director at SW, expressed his enthusiasm about Hobbs’s promotion.

“We’re thrilled to announce Neil’s promotion to director,” Roberts said. “His leadership, expertise, and dedication have been invaluable over the years, and we’re excited to see him take on this new challenge. We have no doubt that Neil will excel in his new role and continue to drive the business forward.”

“I’m really looking forward to driving further growth in this area of the business and the opportunities it will bring to the rest of SW,” Hobbs said.
