Specialist insurance and reinsurance broker THB has swooped on Aon Reinsurance Solutions for a key hire.
The company has snapped up Bob Reichenfeld (pictured) as executive director for THB Europe, a role he will assume from July 01 this year. He is set to be based in Amstelveen and will head up the firm’s treaty offering, working alongside the facultative line-up to help expand its client base.
Making the switch from Aon Reinsurance Solutions Netherlands after 14 years, Reichenfeld said he was “excited and energised” about his new position.
“I am confident that in this consolidating marketplace there is room and demand for THB Treaty,” he said. “The treaty market presents significant opportunities for brokers that are able to add value for their clients. I embrace the company’s long-term ambition and highly value their entrepreneurial drive to make a difference. I can’t wait to start and join the team.”
He will now report to Ricardo Borges, the managing director of THB Europe, who noted the company has “plenty of opportunity” to grow in the market.
“Last year we recruited Zamira Thurnim to further develop our treaty book,” he said. “Bob will have an overarching role and Bob’s experience and networks will add significant resources, experience and knowledge to our treaty team. His hire is a clear indication of THB’s ability to attract the very best and experienced professionals in the market.
