Brit Insurance veteran Stephen Moss is moving to Zurich in December to replace Steve Watson as UK head of specialty lines.
   
Watson, as part of a restructure, has taken on the responsibility of leading Zurich’s technical underwriting in the UK. Assuming his previous role is Moss, who has been with Brit Insurance for 12 years. As portfolio underwriting director, he was in charge of all direct long-tail business written by the Syndicate.

“Stephen joins us with a host of experience gained across a broad spectrum of financial, specialty, and casualty lines – and I’m pleased he’ll be able to bring that to our team,” commented Vinicio Cellerini, UK head of commercial insurance at Zurich.
 
Cellerini added: “We have a clear focus for our commercial business and the unified approach to the market we implemented earlier this year is already re-cementing our position as the go-to insurer for commercial risks here in the UK.”

Zurich, which is confident it will meet its 2017-2019 financial targets, has been ‘simplifying’ the firm. The Swiss international insurance giant said its global initiative was designed to ensure it is able to keep responding to market dynamics and evolving customer expectations.
