Brokers looking to tentatively embrace new technologies have been encouraged to move on from their existing systems and see what is out there on the marketplace to ensure they aren’t left behind in the digital revolution. Now, one charity insurer has done exactly that.

Non-profit insurance specialist Access has appointed Ignite Systems as its digital trading partner. The independent broker, which focuses on charities, church and non-profit risk groups, is set to replace its in-house trading system with Ignite’s web-based platform that is said to offer “operational and underwriting efficiency improvements.”

“Our business has always been about delivering a friendly, professional service to clients in specialist areas,” said Simon Hickman, founder and CEO of Access Insurance. “As a growing company, increasing efficiency and reducing the administration burden on our team is crucial, enabling them to focus on delivering a great service to our clients. Ignite will manage many of the manual administrative tasks that we have been performing to date.”

It is expected that the Ignite platform will be used to launch specialist products and reach new distribution channels while also allowing faster pricing than is typically available elsewhere.

“Enabling brokers to create operating efficiencies while effectively responding to new opportunities is a crucial part of what we offer,” said Toby MacLachlan, managing director at Ignite. “We are excited to be supporting Access in their plans for growth with a proven platform, industry knowledge, and an expert team.”
