Ecclesiastical offers brokers the chance to support charities

Non-Profits & Charities

Supporting charities has arguably never been more critical with so many of them losing their traditional methods of raising funds due to the COVID-19 crisis. Now, insurer Ecclesiastical is hoping to make it easier for brokers to offer their own backing.

The company is attempting to ensure its Closer to You nominated charities will receive their funding as early as possible, extending the deadline for applications to May 29, 2020. The grants are open to selected brokers to support local charities and some are already utilising what’s available to help those on the frontline.

To date, around £300,000 has been donated to charities through the scheme since its inception.

“We know that these are incredibly challenging times for many charities,” said commercial director Adrian Saunders. “By bringing forward the payment of grants and extending the deadline, we can ensure they receive vital funds to support the fantastic work they do when they need it most.

“At the same time the programme has given our brokers an opportunity to support charities doing amazing work in their local area, building their relationships with their local community in the process.”

Ecclesiastical has committed to giving £100 million to good causes across 2020.
