The COVID-19 pandemic may have taken its toll on most businesses, but one is standing up strong.

Warrington-based Advantage Home Construction Insurance (AHCI) has enjoyed two record months for sales. The structural warranty specialist is now looking at its next phase of growth – adding eight new members of staff and revealing plans to open two new offices. Those offices will be based in Horsham (pictured) and Birmingham.

In addition, the company has signed a new deal with an A-rated insurance carrier as part of its long-term plan for sustainable growth, something director of sales David Sumner has great confidence in.

“It’s a credit to our hardworking and dedicated team that we’ve not only continued to serve all of our existing clients throughout the pandemic, we’ve also celebrated two record months for sales during a challenging period for all businesses,” he said.

“Building upon this success, we’ve recruited eight new members of staff to join our sales team, and we’re continuing our recruitment drive. Opening new offices in Horsham and Birmingham will help to ensure that we have the space we need for the business’s ongoing expansion.”

The company reacted swiftly to the pandemic with hygiene and safety measures, while facilitating remote working wherever possible.

“We were about 90 to 95% of the way through the Park Central project (a 14-storey, 129 apartment development which is part of Liverpool’s flagship waterfront regeneration project) when all of the coronavirus-related disruption began,” said Sam Rowlands, one of the founders of Romal Capital.

“We were working with AHCI on the project, and they were able to attend the site safely and efficiently, adhering to all social distancing guidelines. In a very challenging climate for construction, we were able to sign off on the building, and we were issued with the certificates to allow us to complete.

“It was a good experience at a time when we were in the eye of the storm.”
