Most trusted home insurer revealed
Specialist insurer Ecclesiastical has been declared the home insurance provider that is most trusted by customers for the second straight year.

The company ranked first in the Fairer Finance Spring 2017 Home Insurance table, topping the charts overall while also placing first in the categories of customer happiness and client trust.

“I am delighted that Ecclesiastical has retained its top ranking in the Fairer Finance Home Insurance tables,” said John Blundell, managing director for Ecclesiastical’s UK general insurance business.

“What is even more pleasing to see is such high scores in the ‘customer trust’ category,” he added.

Ecclesiastical increased its overall score to 71% to hold the top spot for two consecutive years. It had the highest overall ranking in the home insurance category, sitting above 48 other insurers, including fellow major players Aviva, John Lewis, Hiscox and NFU Mutual.

“Ecclesiastical is a different kind of business, we are owned by a charity and the values that come with that ownership model permeate through the entire business,” Blundell said.

“We set out to be the most trusted financial services group in all of our markets, so it is absolutely fantastic to see that our customers believe they can trust us to do the right thing when it comes to insuring their homes.”

The rankings were listed by Fairer Finance, an independent consumer group which surveys thousands of banking and insurance customers in the UK twice a year.

Fairer Finance asks customers to rate how satisfied they are with their bank or insurance company in four key areas: happiness, trust, complaints handling and transparency.
