Mergers & Acquisitions

Broking group NFP has today announced its acquisition of UK-based KGJ Insurance Services Group Ltd (KGJ). With an office in Wolverhampton and a team of over 55 staff members, KGJ is a commercial insurance broker which specialises in providing combined risks for complex and non-standard programmes.

The acquired broker provides a range of exclusive scheme facilities and access to restricted markets through various wholesale brokerages. Its specialities include marine insurance – offering coverage for all types and sizes of boats as well as coverage to the marine trade sector. KGJ will expand NFP’s market presence in the Midlands area and the UK, and bolster its current P&C offerings with new expertise in specialised insurance lines, offering clients additional services.

KGJ’s leadership team of Richard Cox, Darren Hollinshead and Lyndon Hollinshead will retain senior leadership roles and remain “fully engaged” in the growth of the business, NFP noted in a Press release. John Paul Allcock, UK and Ireland managing director at NFP, said he was delighted to welcome them and the whole KGJ team to NFP. He highlighted that KGJ’s wholesale broking operation is “highly respected” by its network of brokers and that the team had built a first-rate business.

“The KGJ merger continues the momentum of our strategic expansion throughout the UK,” continued Matt Pawley, NFP’s managing director in Europe. “The business has a management team with decades of experience and expertise and this engrained knowledge will enable NFP to deliver increased value to clients regardless of industry, size or coverage required.”

Richard Cox, director at KGJ also commented on the deal and said the KGJ team was looking forward to joining forces with NFP, and to combining the services they both offer to support both clients and their internal teams.

“We were impressed by NFP’s customer-centric approach to business and how their values align with KGJ’s longstanding principles,” he said. “We’re excited to work together and continue to build a thriving business.”
