With the marine industry facing extreme challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, Allianz Care has announced a new partnership that it hopes can ease access to medical services for crews working abroad.

It is teaming up with Tritan Software to offer a full range of services through the SeaCare Health Platform, a software solution for medical management. Through the platform, vessel operators can use a range of tools to manage health operations – ranging from telemedicine consultations through to governmental compliance reporting, illness tracking and communicable disease management.

Speaking on the deal, Paula Covey, the firm’s chief marketing officer, noted that the marine industry is “exceptionally well placed” to benefit from integrated health technology services.

“Recent events impacting the maritime industry in light of the Covid-19 pandemic have highlighted the unique risks and situations faced by marine organisations globally,” she said. “Via this new partnership, SeaCare is now directly connected to Allianz Care’s in-house medical experts of doctors and nurses, global medical network and preferential rates. We are adding medical services to the existing SeaCare software suite to create a unique offering. The partnership allows us to offer a wide range of maritime businesses with a highly responsive, innovative solution to deliver medical services to those working at sea.”

Meanwhile, Tritan Software CEO and president Andrew Carricarte expressed his own excitement at the deal.

“Working together we combine our knowledge and innovation in health technology with Allianz Care’s global medical network and extensive healthcare expertise,” he said. “We share a passion for enhancing the safety and wellbeing of our customers.”
