The rapid acquisition spree of Jensten Group continues at pace, with the company this morning announcing a deal for multi award-winning schemes broker, Darwin Clayton.

The move, which has been made for an undisclosed figure, sees 44 staff and 2,300 clients move to Jensten, subject to regulatory approval. Darwin Clayton, which boasts more than £20 million in GWP, is headquartered in Tunbridge Wells and also has an office in Nottingham. It is known for offering tailored solutions in the contracting sector in particular, with more than 100 years of trading under its belt.

Darwin Clayton – who are they?

The firm, led by CEO Simon Henderson, manages a host of specialist schemes. It works in partnership with several trade bodies including the British Institute of Cleaning Science, the National Association of Shopfitters, and the Cleaning & Support Services Association, among others. It has a focus on cleaning, facilities management, electrical contracting and security, and operates both directly and through UK brokers as part of its Darwin Clayton Partner Brokers brand.

Henderson will now report into Jensten managing director Rob Organ and noted he was excited by the move as the firm looks for continued organic growth and the development of new affinity schemes.

“We wanted to join a group where our specialisms, staff and expertise would be valued, and where we’d be supported to continue growing the business and delivering for both clients and our partner brokers,” he said. “It was clear to us that Jensten met those criteria and was a fit when it came to our focus on people and culture.”

Meanwhile, Organ noted that Darwin Clayton will sit alongside the existing regional and specialist teams that make up Jensten Insurance Brokers.

“Darwin Clayton is a highly respected specialist schemes broker,” said Organ. “I’m delighted that they have chosen to join Jensten at a time where we’re focused on building our schemes capability, enabling us to deliver market-leading propositions that meet the needs of different communities of clients with specialist niche requirements.”
