Financial and professional lines (finpro) managing general agent Spring Insure, which is looking to significantly expand its footprint in the UK and European finpro market, has hired additional specialist underwriters.

New hires James O’Halloran (pictured above) and Charlie Cooper (pictured below) bring the MGA’s roster count to 27 across London, Dublin, and Guernsey.

As development underwriter, O’Halloran will be in charge of driving forward Spring Insure’s broker relationships for financial institutions, professional indemnity (PI), directors & officers, and cyber in the UK and Europe.

Based in London, the key arrival made the switch from CFC Underwriting and brings more than eight years of industry experience to Spring Insure.

Cooper, meanwhile, will serve as underwriter for financial institutions, fintech, and cyber insurance programmes for commercial and financial services SME businesses. His insurance experience spans six years and includes time spent at Protean Risk.

“Our ability to attract specialist underwriters of such a high calibre underlines our growing reputation in the sector for delivering for both our brokers and their clients in the financial lines market,” commented Spring Insure group chief executive Tristan Sargeaunt.

“These senior appointments are also central to our plans to increase our market share in financial institutions and commercial PI and to deliver on our ambitious growth targets.”

Spring Insure entered the insurance market in 2020.
