Hedron Network welcomes Zurich in “major coup”

Hot on the heels of Markel joining Hedron Network’s insurer panel is the arrival of Zurich Insurance.

Hedron is the new brand that came to life following the acquisition of Marsh’s UK Networks business by Global Risk Partners (GRP). According to Barry Driscoll, Zurich’s UKGI (general insurance) strategic account manager, a factor in the insurer choosing to work with the network is its existing relationship as a GRP strategic partner.

Driscoll highlighted: “Hedron Network brokers will benefit from Zurich’s outbound calling campaigns for all products. We will proactively outbound the Hedron members if a quote they self-serve falls into our appetite, underlining our desire to win the business and our commitment to developing the relationship.

“In terms of underwriting service, the best service from SME underwriting is received when the broker self-serves, with us responding to 50% of referrals in under two hours (May 21), as an example. The brokers can also use live chat or phone us for instant decisions needed.”

Policies written include manually traded commercial lines products as well as package products – spanning casualty, property, motor, construction, energy, engineering, financial lines, commercial combined, property owner, shop, small fleet, trades and professions, executive risk solutions, personal accident and business travel, and cargo.

“This is a major coup for Hedron,” commented chief executive David Hopwood, who leads the network that consists of more than 250 broker members. “Zurich is one of the most reputable names in insurance, and their offering significantly enhances our panel.”

Zurich’s “service-led” proposition also includes named account managers for Hedron brokers.
