Fresh off last month’s launch of its new mental health service, “excited” Aviva has announced another partnership aimed at enhancing how it looks after its customers’ health.

Tapping Now Healthcare Group for the Aviva Digital GP mobile app, the British insurer will enable its large corporate health insurance customers to book video consultations with NHS-qualified GPs and receive remote diagnoses, as well as get answers to simpler medical questions using a live chat facility. Available in 12 languages, the digital doctor app provides access to more than 1,000 GPs.

“Aviva is excited about appointing Now Healthcare Group as our new strategic provider of digital health services,” said Mark Noble, Aviva’s chief executive of global health. “At Aviva we’re keen to provide our customers with digital solutions to help make their lives easier and give greater control of their health.

“We are confident that this new relationship will provide Aviva with opportunities to enhance, evolve, and change the way we look after the health of our customers.”

Other features of the service include a UK-wide pharmacy network and prescription delivery, as well as at-home testing and monitoring kits. Through Aviva Digital GP, customers may also opt to book the same doctor for their consultations.

Lee Dentith, CEO and founder of the digital health company, is just as thrilled “to be working with one of the UK’s largest insurers to bring convenient and accessible healthcare to more and more people.”

Aviva said the app will eventually be rolled out more widely to its customers.
