Tom Britten started on RSA's apprentice scheme around five years ago and has since worked his career up to senior underwriter in a remarkably short timescale, proving to be a self-starter with market impact ahead of his age. As specialist underwriter, Britten is able to combine technical expertise with a commercial trading flair in the global renewable energy business. Within the role, Britten has undertaken specialised research into key technical and claims issues, such as dealing with increased metals theft losses and specific Cat modelling on non-standard property exposure, in what remains to be an evolving specialism. He has also represented RSA at the London Engineering Group insurer committee.
