Mercury Insurance has been named one of the world's best insurance companies for 2023 in the auto category, according to Forbes. This marks the first time that carriers have been eligible for the award.

Forbes collaborated with independent market research group Statista to conduct a comprehensive survey of policyholders worldwide, focusing on auto, home, and life insurance. The evaluation process encompassed policyholders' overall recommendations, general satisfaction, and loyalty to their insurance carrier.

In addition, participants assessed insurance companies they had policies with in the past three years across five categories: advice, customer service, price, transparency, and damage/benefit service. A total of 20 carriers in the United States and 108 carriers globally were recognized.

“Receiving a world's best insurance company designation is a tremendous honor, and it showcases the amazing work our team members put into creating fantastic customer experiences,” said Gabriel Tirador, president and CEO of Mercury Insurance. “Mercury was founded in 1961 by George Joseph, who has always believed we should provide quality insurance products at an affordable rate, while also delivering outstanding service. This simple vision is at the core of everything Mercury stands for, and it's one of the many reasons Mercury continues to be acknowledged as one of the best insurance companies in not only the United States, but now the world.”

This isn’t the first honor that Mercury Insurance has received from Forbes. In February, the company was recognized as one of the nation’s best mid-sized employers.

Mercury Insurance also recently announced the appointment of Wilson Pang as chief technology officer.
